I have finally watched Aamir's Ghajini and Shah Rukh's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. These two movies which released in late December were supposed to be the two most awaited movies of 2008. The audience was really looking forward to watching these two movies because they star two of the biggest Bollywood actors - SRK and Aamir. But the truth is that both movies disappoint. However, the question is - which one is better?
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (RNBDJ)
This is a very simple movie coming from Yash Chopra. The movie created a lot of buzz because it belongs to the famous team of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (which is still running in a theater in India after more than 10 years). Three main actors in the movie are Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Vinay Pathak
Shah Rukh acts very well in the movie as a simple man who just wants his wife to love her. Vinya Pathak, his friend, is superb. Anushka Sharma performs very well in her debut movie against Shah Rukh.
I don't want to reveal much about RNBDJ because I think that you should go and watch it. The story is very simple. It does have flaws but it is still decent. There are also some very nice comic and emotional scenes that really touch you. Songs are great, especially Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai and Haule Haule.

Final: Go watch it. It's not great but worth it. You will come back with a smile on your face.
Ghajini
Now where should I start with this movie. You all know about the amount of publicity this movie got in the last few weeks. People's expectations are really high and this movie fails to please audiences.
Ghajini features superstar Aamir and south actress Asin. There are very few times when you can go wrong with Aamir Khan in a movie and this is one of those times.
As you know, the movie is about a patient who is incapable of creating new memories. He only remembers for 15 minutes and after that he forgets it all. The movie is inspired from a Tamil movie which is inspired from a Hollywood movie called Memento.
Aamir's acting is great in the flashback when he plays the role of a tycoon. It's natural and pleasing. However, Aamir fails as a mad killer. He looks terrible and let’s not even start with the action. The action is just regular action fast forwarded which is so annoying to watch.
Furthermore, Ghajini is supposed to be thriller but it turns out to be more of a boring love story which goes wrong. There is no suspense in the movie at all.
WARNING: THE STORY IS ABOUT TO BE REVEALED.
Aamir is in love with his fiance. She gets killed by a guy called Ghajini who also hits Aamir on his head and is responsible for Aamir's Short Term Memory Loss problem. Aamir finds the guy and kills him. That's the story! Yes this is it. No suspense at all. You find out about the killer about half an hour after the movie starts. There is no climax. Hero kills the villain...the villain that you already know about from the beginning.
Songs are not that great. Actors are terrible (the star cast is horrible...especially the character who played the policeman). The plot has lots and lots of flaws which only make you laugh. Plot is useless.

Overall: Waste of time. Useless. Don't waste your money.
