Seriously, what is it with verizon?! They didn't want they iphone b/c it came with features out the box that Apple wasn't going to cripple so verizon could charge their premiums for it(V Cast my a**). Now with so many defectors heading to at&t they
see now what the consumer wants and will go where ever the best deal is. Like it or hate it the iphone is a freaking hit. Home run out the park. Balco juiced or au natural the darn thing is the s***!!!
I have the 3GS and there ain't nothing out there like. NOTHING!!!!!!
Now if only Apple would put gaming controls on the touch. You'd see the psp and the pspgo retail for $19.99. You know I'm right. And don't forget the dual analog sticks. OH LAWD! Sony would just die.

Is the difference that Apple is more willing to talk to and play ball with the content providers? Is it that Google has "changing its demands"? Is it about technical concerns? Are the content provides trying to guess who the winning horse will be?
Or (my guess) is it all about the revenue sharing model?
If I had to guess Apple can force a better deal and force the record company to bend more to what they want and with Google the record companies have more power to force what they want onto google.

That punk ass stoner gets what he gets. I have a brother and a broth-in-law that are both stoner drop outs and half-ass everything they do. Everyone needs a push to set them straight, be it jail or getting fired for failing to pay attention to detail.
As a 2 time war vet, if the scouts on my team failed to pay attention to detail i would be dead right now. As we always used to say "get your head out of your 4th point of contact before you get someone killed"

The idea of Verizon (or any operator) controlling information leaks seems a little implausible to me -- BoyGeniusReport often publishes leaked screenshots from operators, for example.
That said, there seems to be growing consensus that the Verizon iPhone is coming -- and coming soon!

Were this true, you would realize that there are fifty states each with their own crimes and with unique elements of those crimes. It would be difficult to make a blanket statement that OP committed "retail theft."

Just my opinion which has proven shockingly accurate this year.
MacBook Pro
I expect it to be updated within a month with a silent update when inventories of Yonah MacBook Pros are moderated. It wil have 802.11n installed but will not be supported until Airport super extreme or whatever is formally updated in November. Or perhaps on OSX 10.5 software update in 1-07.

I expect it to stay Yonah until 1-07 when Steve wil show it as "one more thing". This is an Apple profit center and the market share leader. Maybe even colors at an upprice.
Mac-Mini 1-07 update to Merom and the declaration by Steve Jobs of 100% 64 bit accross the product line, a truly great achievement which will give him a legacy.
This will be the last "really impressive" processor upgrade for 2+ years into the future. Remaining improvements will be in features, communications, integration, sooftware, etc. The processor will become a gently updated commodity. This will be the first time ever, regular people will stop waiting for their computer to work, even when using multiple applications.
OSX wil be updaed to 10.5 of course as this is the central theme of 1-07. Related to this we will see updates of iApps to take advantage of new features and increased integration.
iPhone will be announced. Candy Bar format. Cingular as carrier with one of those rebranding agreements. Possibly even before Christmas.
There will be a separate media event for iTV and the iPod allscreen. That unit will be the center of a human's universe, Steve's dream of his lifetime. Phone/broadband, iPod, PDA, remote, OSX lite, everything except wiping your butt. Third parties will release that feature as a dongle. You will think you are Picard on ST-TNG.

Shatters when you drop it
Tired old OS
..but it's still desirable over all the other phones.
Apple can fix some of these issues this summer, if they're not too smug to get off their high horse.

You mean like how Finder is finally adding cut and paste? Give me a break, there is plenty that Windows does that OSX does not do, like decent graphics support for one. It cuts both ways.

People talk about a so-called 'reality distortion field' about Steve Jobs and yet everyday we get people blatantly ignoring truth because it doesn't fit with their own personal world view.
Yes, there were Palms, and Blackberries, Nokia's, Sony-Ericssons, and Panasonics etc before the iPhone but when we all saw the iPhone everyone instantly knew that was the future; touch-screen, icon based, intuitive, with an emphasis on both design and usability.
You might not like the fact that Apple revolutionized the phone market but history says otherwise.
No, when Apple revealed the iPhone most people were thinking something along the line of "Apple seriously need to reconsider leaving out 3G and the ability to install software if they want to make it in the smart phone business", a phone that doesn't let you install new software is by definiton not a smart phone. The iPhone 3G was the real deal, ofcourse the first gen was successful, simply because it was Apple, but the 3G was when it turned into a good product and soared in popularity.
And iPhone is far from the first icon based phone and I personally believe the Sony Ericsson P800 and P900 was a big inspiration for iPhone.

Really hoping that this is the next iPhone. It looks odd and legit at the same time, so i'm not sure. Still, i hope the next iPhone will have a larger screen.

I currently have a Samsung Rogue(dumb phone) on Verizon. I have service nearly everywhere I have been. My phone drops calls in the wind(Samsungs fault) and has many problems(Also Samsung, NOT VERIZON), this is one thing I hate about the (dumb) phones. Samsung released this phone with problems but you know what, they dropped this phone 4-5 months later and replaced it with another similar phone...did they do any updates? Yes, 1 and it fixed absolutely no problems that are widespread like the email client makes noise even when the phone is set to Vibrate/Alarm/Silent.
LOL, oh how I am not surprised!! I had a friend that has a Samsung Impression on AT&T and it has a problem with getting stuck trying to send text messages to the point where you have to reboot it. This is a huge problem with Impressions....
